About Me
Hello and welcome to my portfolio! My name is Haojing Huang, though most people know me as Sam.
I am a senior at MIT studying Mechanical Engineering, with a interest in the intersection of design and manufacturing. What excites me most is not only creating innovative designs, but also understanding the processes and methods that bring them to life. From designing tractor components at John Deere to researching novel propeller geometries at MIT’s Marine Autonomy Laboratory, I’ve developed a strong foundation in CAD modeling, prototyping, and experimental testing. My work often bridges mechanical design, electronics, and coding, reflecting my broader interest in mechatronics and integrated systems.
I find fulfillment in projects where creativity meets practicality — where a concept evolves into a tangible, functional system. Whether it’s fabricating custom parts, building test setups, or refining a design through iteration, I enjoy exploring the full cycle of engineering problem-solving.
Outside of academics and research, I like to stay active and creative in other ways. You’ll often find me playing badminton, diving into a good book, or experimenting with new baking recipes in the kitchen.
